Yes, we are ISO 14001 certified. Read more about ISO 14001 here.
What do Havo paint and modelling clay consist of?
Many of our paint and modelling clay types largely consist of water, binders and fillers. In order to give our products beautiful colours, we add natural and synthetic pigments. For purposes of product stability and safety, we also add a small amount of preservatives to many of our products. Would you like to know more about the ingredients per product group? You can find it here.
Do Havo products contain microplastics?
Microplastics and microbeads are plastics that have been deliberately added to products and that seep into the environment when used. Examples include the granules in face or body scrubs, makeup, shampoo and detergents. Acrylic polymers in acrylic paints are also microplastics. It only concerns paints in liquid form. Dried paint is not covered by microplastics, because after drying, no particles wash out into the environment. PE glitters also fall under microplastics. We do not use PE glitters for our metallic acrylic paints and mother-of-pearl paints, but we do use PE glitters for glitter glue and paint.
Because acrylic paints, glitter adhesives and glitter paints contain microplastics, it is important to prevent them from seeping into the environment. This can be done by allowing the paint to dry (for example on a pallet) and then removing the dried layer and adding it to the residual waste. The paint in used brushes can first be removed as much as possible by removing it with paper towels before they are rinsed under the tap. To inform your customer about this, you can use this video made by the Dutch Association of Paint and Ink Producers (VVVF) and trade association CEPE. The video uses wall paint as an example, but can also be applied to acrylic paint.
